Jessie Ware- “Say You Love Me”

Based on the two singles I’ve heard so far, Tough Love could be the album that catapults British songstress Jessie Ware into pop stardom.  Her latest track, “Say You Love Me,” is a slow- burning ballad featuring slick production from a duo known as BenZel (Benny Blanco and Two Inch Punch) that’s in turns minimal and dramatic.  The song most notably showcases Ware’s stunning vocal range.  Wait until just after the halfway mark, and prepared to be blown away when a choir comes in to accompany her.

Tough Love comes out on October 21.  In the meantime, stream “Say You Love Me” below.

Jessie Ware- “Tough Love” (Cyril Hahn Remix)

A few weeks ago, Jessie Ware released a brand new, beautifully chill and subtly seductive song called “Tough Love,” and it quickly became one of my favorite tracks. Enter master remixer Cyril Hahn and his amazing beats and production skills, and now we have a whole new way of experiencing and appreciating one of Jessie Ware’s best songs to date. He’s given it a much faster, more playful beat that still works with the pace and style of the vocals, creating a remix that’s intriguing, effective, and certainly enjoyable.

Jessie Ware- “Tough Love”

This new single by British vocalist Jessie Ware was the perfect song to find near the top of my soundcloud stream when I came back from vacation today. It’s on the more understated, ambient side, but it still has a gently enticing, almost hypnotic beat that made me put it on repeat for a little while.

If you’re a fan of electronic music with female vocals in the vein of Ellie Goulding, MSMR, Polica or Lana Del Rey, this song will be right up your alley.

Two Inch Punch Remixes: Sam Smith, Justin Timberlake, Jessie Ware, Portugal the Man

I love this guy and all his remixes and collaborations; his sound is so fresh and unique and unlike a lot of other stuff out there in the electropop world. His Sam Smith remixes are right up there with “Paint it Red,” which they did with Mikky Ekko. He infused Justin Timberlake’s “Suit and Tie” with his unique sound (tagged as “spacesynth” on soundcloud- a very fitting description, actually), and I was actually happy to listen to it despite it being a kind of tired, overplayed pop song at this point.

He also put out a chill, spacey, sparkly remix of Jessie Ware’s “If You’re Never Gonna Move,” as well as a fun twist on Portugal the Man’s “Purple, Yellow, Red and Blue.”
